Hi there, today we see…  the signs of a new season! Temperatures began to rise a few weeks ago and even some flowering plants are blooming in beautiful colours. 

 We just feel spring today!  To Bobux it means cupcakes and “crumdiddlyumptious” home made scones (Anna made them.) …and a good cuppa for morning tea time. 

Yup, new stuff is surely happening.  Spring chicks are on the way. This morning, a spring-photo-taking-quest around our office building produced this precious find, the cutest little egg.  The mum kept an eye on us making sure we’re merely taking photos.

Bobux wishes you a very Happy Mother’s day !    

If you have already celebrated Mother’s day on another day, hope you’ve had a lovely time with your family.  

Mother’s days are so special.  It’s all about celebrating and appreciating mum-hood.   Don’t we all just enjoy receiving those handmade cards and foodies in the morning of Mother’s days.  And don’t forget about all the dad-efforts that goes into making you feel like your just the only mum in this world!   It’s not all just about receiving nice goodies; being a mum or making your own mum feel super special is rewarding in itself.  

At Bobux we are mums too.  Angela, Nicola and Stefanie share why Mother’s day is so special to them:

Angela:  “As my girls are getting older their take on life is becoming more amusing.   On Monday my 6 year old came home with a coupon book. She explained that Mummies shouldn’t have to wait until Mothers Day to get hugs and nice things so she asked at her after-school program if they could make coupon books.  She has been rather chuffed with herself as I have been using the vouchers this week – although I am saving the ‘Breakfast in Bed’ one until Sunday!  My 4 year old is much the same.  She was so proud of her Mothers day card, she insisted I opened it on Thursday.   Being children of the ‘sustainability’ generation I am sure it will all be recycled for Sunday!

Nicola:  ”I love waking up on Mother’s Day as the kids are so excited and love making a fuss over me.  I am looking forward to reading the card Jessica has made me because she said she has filled it with love.  It is moments like those that I cherish being a Mum.   The thing I most enjoy doing on Mother’s Day is making a fuss of my Mother and doing something special with her.  This year is no exception. Happy Mother’s day.”

Stefanie: “My 16 year old daughter, Evie asked me the other day what I would like for mother’s day.  I explained to her , it’s not about materialistic objects and that the only gift I want is the gift of her time.   My mother’s day will be perfect.  A whole day spending quality time with my girl, and a family roast dinner that night, surrounded by all those I love – sharing the gift of life.”

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY everyone!

Lisa - Bobux shop Co-Ordinator

Our shop in East Tamaki has undergone some major changes over the last few months; it has moved two doors along, it is bigger and you will now be warmly welcomed into the shop by Lisa.    Lisa is the co-ordinator of the shop and she is lovely !    (Most of you have already met Lisa during our recent sale.)

She was a pre-school teacher and nanny before and, ironically most of the kids she first babysat wore Bobux shoes!

   She is excellent with children and she says her friends often joke that she’s more into kids clothes and shoes than having kids themselves !  Lisa LOVES kids clothes (and of course shoes !!)

  Lisa has been working in the Bobux shop for just over two months, and it already feels like we have known her forever.  She is friendly, and her open personality makes her an ideal person for mums to come to for honest and good advice about baby clothes and shoes.  She understands the milestones babies go through from sitting to crawling to walking, and understands what they need to achieve for the next great milestone.  And she’s truly a great help to us and mums visiting the shop.

 If you’d like to meet Lisa in the shop, come and see her Tuesdays to Fridays from 9am to 17:00pm or Saturdays 9am to 15:00pm.

The Easter bunny was here too !  He came a bit early, so we could share in the childrens fantasy and enjoy some yummy chocolate eggs and bunnies before the weekend started!  It was the first time he came around to Bobux.  By the looks of it, it might be a good idea we send him an invitation to visit next year again!   We’re like kids when it comes to chocolate egg hunting …at least for most of us. 

In New Zealand, chocolate is the main Easter treat everyone looks forward to receiving. Every grocery store has a huge selection of small and giant chocolate eggs and bunnies and every other Easter-related shape imaginable! 

Also, Easter means the beginning of school holidays, daylight saving has ended and the sun is shining (in Auckland at least).  What a great way to celebrate the start of autumn.

We were into it !  Everyone left on Thursday with a handful of eggs, a big smile and ready to having  4 days off.    The luckiest person in the easter egg hunt was Patsy who would claim all the “unfound” eggs in and around the factory when she picks customer orders today!
