get a growth chart for his / her room
Starting off as just a single cell, and then multiplying into millions of cells, your baby has displayed to you the meaning and miracle of the word “growth”. It’s so evident in the stages before birth. This continues after birth, when you’re so consciously and diligently making sure his or her growth is exactly at the stage it should be (often resulting in a fair bit of ‘milestone-anxiety’). But when baby gets bigger, is the urge to monitor his growth less of a priority…??
It’s great to keep record of the dates of your child’s milestones.
You’ll forever remember the dates of those special moments during your little one’s development if you also include it on a growth chart. The first smile, first tooth, first crawl, first steps, first visit to the park… etc – add them too. (Hmmm… and does anyone know if doubling your baby’s height at the age of two determines how tall he’ll end up to be one day is a confirmed theory?)
Remember the episode of “Extreme Makeover – Home Edition” where the mum tracked her toddlers’ growth the old fashioned way on the door panes of their old house before she sadly passed away? And the make-over team “saved” the whole door pane for the family’s brand new home? … What a clever way to be remembered as a mum!
